- Must be a bona fide manufacturer of an end product, not a re-manufacturer, or reconditioner
- Must have the capability as well as perform the engineering design, development, and reliability validation on their own end product
- Must market GM engines, transmissions or components as part of an end product
- Must have an established channel of distribution and service network
- Must have service network capability to provide service, parts, and administer own warranty wherever end product is sold
- Must be fiscally sound with favorable credit rating and capable of providing a standby letter of credit
- Must purchase a minimum of 2,000 units annually
The following information will be required for consideration as a new OEM - A description and pictures of manufacturing facilities
- A selection of current products descriptive literature for reference file
- A product plan explaining the type, future use and volume of product needed
- A description of current trading area, (i.e., Regional, National, or International)
- A description of your technical service network, your service policies, your service parts network and warranty policy administration
- An audited corporation financial report to demonstrate the corporation's soundness
- Description of materials and production control capability for level schedules, and agree to provide GM with:
- Monthly released by the 10th working day
- Current month, plus 60-days non-cancel orders
- Current month, plus 12 months forecast
- Current month, plus 60-month forecast as required by GM (one or two times per calendar year)
